I just purchased PUBG and feeling a bit down about upgrading my rig right now (hope you get a new CPU/MBO/ram soon). Here are my current specs: Phenom II X4 965 @ Stock, 3.4GHz (can't overclock, even with a powerful cooler like the Shadow Rock 2). I have 8GB DDR2-800 RAM – that's am2+ in a 2017 GTX 760 SC, which is likely the most costly part here. Below are the limits from Speccy; let me know if you have any tips to hit at least 30fps stability (PUBG isn't very well optimized yet).

A. Upgrade your CPU or consider an APU if your motherboard allows.
B. Replace your motherboard and processor entirely.
C. Hope the PC masters deliver smooth performance. (lol)

I don’t own the game, but I know people who play it (even though it’s hard to control). It’s already not well optimized. I suggest turning off all CPU-related options, especially those affecting physics. Also, lower the graphics settings to 720p if you haven’t already. Reducing everything to the simplest level will help. Let me know how it performs!

You're heavily influenced by the game settings rather than the hardware itself.

The GPU now offers a smooth mix between 1080p and 720p; I’ll test 720p to check if it improves things. (Also, my 760 runs about 40% load while the CPU is really working hard.)

Absolutely, an unstable OC is really annoying.

Absolutely, CSGO works well there, but it struggles on my PC as well. With Christmas just around the corner, I’m hoping to get a Ryzen 3 and a solid 16GB DDR4 setup.

Gaming doesn't require 16, try 8 for a more powerful GPU or SSD.

If you spot my Speccy, you'll notice I own the 750 EVO with 250GB storage. I also have a 960 unit waiting in line (my friend is passing it over since he's moving up to a 1060), and having 4GB VRAM will definitely feel much better than 2GB.
