The same chipset is used, which only slightly affects temperatures and headroom. MSI features a lot of coil whine and no back plate on EVGA.

Same GPU, rarely come across anyone mentioning MSI having strong coil whine. My 960 OCed at 1.6GHz shows no such noise, which is surprising, and why would you add a backplate just for looks?

gtx 960 and gtx 980 are distinct models, not interchangeable. Making a claim that one doesn't have coils implies the other will, but they are separate cards—980 isn't just a version of 960. A backplate helps keep dust from damaging the board. If you have extra funds, why not invest? In this discussion, I'm seeking optimal graphics settings for GTA 5, not opinions about the GPU itself. Please check the thread for details.

Because the strix is a mess, yet I’ve already addressed the issue. Pay attention and study (comment #3).

maximized settings, disable post effects (preference boosts FPS) turn off reflection MSAA, unless you're consistently above 60 (also in rain). I don't see any difference between ambient occlusion normal and very high, so stick with normal if you follow the guide Nvidia provided.

It's true, such resources are available for each model and card design.

You enjoy Strix right away, so why did you request another card? Dust doesn’t influence the electrical component, as you mentioned. You said there’s only one person.
