Hello everyone. I've been enjoying CS:GO since its beta phase, but my FPS is consistently low—around 70 to 90 frames per second. My PC is an older model that can't be upgraded, as indicated by the motherboard. Here are my current specs: a Gigabyte EP-45-DS3 motherboard, 2x2GB DDR2 RAM at 800MHz, a Sapphire HD4780 VGA with 1GB GDDR5, an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 at 2.5 GHz, and a 650W Chieftek power supply. I'm looking for a configuration that can maintain steady FPS between 250 and 300. My budget is limited to around 1000 euros. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello! The forum is here. Are there any other tasks you'd like to perform on your computer?

Get a 270 and you should be fine, and a new psu

Thanks, Tedster. I also want to stream my game. That's it.

The motherboard looks quite old, and it's unclear if the 270 rating will fit properly.

Counter Strike relies a lot on CPU power, so its FPS may not improve much. Consider upgrading your CPU and motherboard. A Pentium G3258 with a decent, affordable board should get you playing smoothly.

Don't waste money on a €1000 upgrade. Just refresh your GPU to a newer model and you should be good. A full new setup is another matter.

A 270 is a graphics card upgrade, swapping your existing one for the new model will significantly enhance performance. A configuration won<|pad|> can't reach 300 fps.

Hey, maybe I missed mentioning it, but I’m planning to retire this PC. I’ll need a solid setup for around 1000 euros for CS:GO. I also intend to pass it on to my parents.

Minimum 70 fps feels quite low. 1000 Euros seems excessive for CS:GO. If you're planning to play, consider starting a discussion about optimal configurations for a 1000 Euro budget.
