I'm currently using an AMD Ryzen 7 2700 with 16GB RAM, a 256GB SSD, a Radeon 580 featuring 8192 MB of VRAM, and a 650W power supply. It has consistently performed well, never stopping during Photoshop work or video editing, even when many other programs are active. However, the latest AI features in Photoshop are slowing things down significantly; they often take over a minute or longer, and sometimes the whole system freezes until completion. Upgrading is on my radar. My main priorities are Photoshop and video editing. (I’m also playing Game-MechWarrior 5, but I’m not experiencing any issues there.) Based on the Task Manager, upgrading to at least 32GB of RAM and a larger SSD would be necessary. These components are identified as the main constraints. If I proceed, it makes more sense long-term to switch to a new CPU and M.Board. What’s the most suitable CPU for this build? Does the model below suit my requirements, or should I look elsewhere?

Parts already considered:
- [CPU] — Not remembered the exact model; 650W power supply, ready to replace if needed
- [Mobo] — Not specified
- [RAM] — 16GB currently in use
- [SSD] — 256GB, upgrade recommended
- [GPU] — Radeon 580 with limited VRAM

Budget suggestion:
(e.g.): 300-400 $500-$1,000

Usage priority from highest to lowest:
Photo editing in Adobe Photoshop; creating 4K videos for YouTube

Monitor status:
No

Upgrade items:
CPU, M.Board, RAM, SSD

Links to parts you’re considering:
[AMD Ryzen 7 2700 kit](https://www.microcenter.com/product...ie...ild-bundle)
[G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit](https://www.microcenter.com/product...d5-6000-kit)
[Computer Build Bundle](https://www.microcenter.com/product...build-bundle)

Additional thoughts:
Photoshop and 4K video editing remain the top concerns.
Upgrade reason: The AI features in Photoshop are severely impacting performance.

Include the PSU's age along with its make and model to help assess recyclability. A long-standing PSU may not deliver the same performance it once did.

That's a valid observation; I wasn't taking it into account before.

Microcenter offers these bundles for different configurations:
- Intel Core i7-13700K with ASUS Z790-P Prime WiFi DDR5 and G.Skill 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit for $549.
- Intel i7 14700K with MSI Z790-P Pro WiFi and G.Skill 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit for $624.97.
Someone is asking for a comparison of Intel versus Ryzen in terms of performance for Photoshop and video editing at these prices.

Intel is great for video editing because of Quick Sync. The 14700k with extra E cores offers a better option than the 13700k. Having 64gb of RAM would be beneficial. I recommend a 16gb GPU for your video editing work. Currently, only the 4060Ti 16gb seems to meet that need. It's unclear how well the RX 6800XT handles AI tasks, but 16GB VRAM is advisable for smooth and efficient performance.
