Optimal cost-efficiency for Ryzen 5 3600 configuration
Hello, I’m considering constructing a new computer. Mostly a fresh build. I’m planning to reuse my existing ATX case, possibly. The main challenge for me has been determining what improvements exist beyond the X570 chipset support versus the B450. I don’t want anything like 500+ MHz motherboards. Can you find a way to assess how a motherboard impacts gaming performance? I was thinking of 3200MHz RAM and 16GB storage. Is there a forum where people share this kind of information? Also, I have a 700W PSU and plan to use an RTX 1660 as my GPU. If you can, please suggest more than one option. Thank you! I’ll definitely check availability in Finland. This is essentially the only PC-building community I’m part of.
x570 offers compatibility with the upcoming 4000 series and PCIe 4.0 standards. this doesn't directly affect gaming speed. some budget B450 boards lack sufficient voltage output to run the 3600, causing the CPU to slow down, which impacts gameplay.
Choosing a 1660 GPU works well with a 3600 and a B450 Tomahawk Max. The limiting factor is likely your GPU itself.
I was considering upgrading the GPU later, but I’m looking into a motherboard that could support my upcoming CPU too.
I was considering upgrading the GPU later, but I’m leaning toward a motherboard that could support your next CPU. Right now I’m mainly using Space Engineers.
