Hello, I’m looking for advice from someone who owns Far Cry 4. Could you share your personal preferences and experience with the game? I’m curious about the ideal graphics settings, especially how features like God Rays and AA settings affect performance. I understand these choices are subjective, so any tips or examples from others would be greatly appreciated. Also, having a GTX 980 SC on hand might help narrow down the options. Thanks!

You can enjoy smooth performance on NVIDIA. My system runs very well, achieving around 45-50 frames per second.

He’s focused on the overall performance rather than specific details, he has a 980 SC and can push it well. He’s interested in seeing which settings others recommend work best.

You're observing some interesting effects with your settings. It seems certain combinations can make the game appear darker while others boost FPS but don't significantly reduce jaggies.

There was an HBAO setting that made the game darker, but it's been resolved. Otherwise, HBAO is solid, godrays are decent, and FUR isn't great for performance. Turn it up to the highest setting and turn off FUR—I prefer HBAO+ personally.

A 970 would likely perform best with the GeForce Experience "Optimized" settings.

It was another choice I didn't really like...especially when it comes to the impact versus the result.

I haven't experienced much success with the optimized options in GeForce Experience for most titles.

I understand your request, but I don’t have a personal viewpoint since I’m dealing with a 660. Right now I run on the preset medium without anti-aliasing and maintain around 50fps. I’ll wait until next month to place an order for a 970.
