Sure, I can help with that. Based on your needs, looking for the most affordable CPU and motherboard without a dedicated GPU makes sense. Stick to basic options like budget-friendly options from sites such as Google Sheets or YouTube, and consider running Linux Lite with Chrome. Let me know if you want specific recommendations!

Pick up a used office computer for $200. Dell or HP available; you can add an SSD upgrade for an extra $40.

Used computers offer the advantage of easy upgrades. You can enhance performance later by adding a discreet graphics card for a solid 1080p display.

Ensure your system has an Intel Skylake processor or later for optimal YouTube performance, and consider at least 8GB of memory.

Chromebook or GalliumOS version, or a refurbished ThinkPad with SSD (or a regular desktop if available).

Around 4K might be possible, though for something simple like a 1080p video, a decent Ivy Bridge setup should work fine.

Creating a desktop in that situation isn't advisable. Opt for a used ThinkPad T460 with an SSD, or a refurbished office Dell or Lenovo PC for about $200. These options offer much better value compared to building from scratch.

My setup includes a 9-year-old 2600K (sandy bridge) and YouTube 1080p streaming runs very smoothly.
