I'm curious about whether older titles can be updated with mantle patches. Wouldn't it be great if developers created patches for games like BF3, Crysis, Assassin Creed, and others?

I owned the PS3 version of GTA5. When I learned there might be a PC release, I sold it around the middle. I ended up with Max Payne 3 on Steam at a very low price and I have to say it really looks amazing when you crank it up. If it can match that quality, I’ll be thrilled!

The mantle demands an enormous time and financial investment, making its advantages negligible. EA has accepted the mantle's message, but Rockstar won't follow suit. If they supported mantle, they'd have shared it sooner.

I intended to share this to help stop the spread of misinformation. The article’s heading seems inaccurate. There’s no confirmation that Rockstar has signed with Mantle. They’re only hinting at a partnership with AMD, possibly for the AMD Gaming Evolved program. This would be similar to past announcements like Nvidia’s The Way It’s Meant To Be Played or GameWorks. So essentially, we might see standalone AMD tools such as Tressfx. That aligns with their need to work within the current AMD platform for upcoming consoles.
