I'm searching for a PSU for my new 7800x3d/7800xt setup, but it's proving challenging to find a suitable one.
I came across:
Asus AP-850G 80 Plus Gold 850W ATX 3.0 PCIE 5.0 Modular
(150 euro/$) with limited online reviews calling it "great".
The price is also lower than my other current choices:
Thermaltake Toughpower PF3 80 Plus Platinum 850W ATX 3.0 PCIe 5.0 Modular
Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 80 Plus Gold 850W ATX 3.0 PCIe 5.0 Modular
Asus TUF Gaming 80 Plus Gold 850W ATX 3.0 Modular
Any thoughts or suggestions about this model? Are there other recommendations? I need an ATX3 with PCIe 5.0 for future-proofing. Thank you.

The power supply comes with an eight-year warranty and is 80+ Gold Certified, making it a reliable choice. Asus offers strong power supplies, so you might want to consider the Asus Strix 850 instead. Asus uses rebranded SeaSonic models for their Strix and Thor series. It's fully modular, 80+ Gold Certified at a reduced price (currently discounted), and includes a ten-year warranty. Hope this assists, stay safe.

In my area, your suggested strix is 50 dollars more costly and doesn't support PCIe5. Would you still prefer it compared to the AP-850?

When prices are higher in your area, it's best to keep your original choice. The Asus Prime remains an excellent option.

It's a solid unit. Similar to the CWT GPX platform like MSI MAG A-GL, but with improved caps and fan performance. It outperforms the Strix since the Seasonic Focus Plus version has OCP problems with newer GPUs. The Strix Aura remains a strong choice.
