It seems you're considering a board with solid features but are new to using one. That's totally okay—many people start out this way!

It's costly unless you have a precise justification for its unique capabilities. Choose the board based on your knowledge level—either you're unsure or you have a clear need, and you don't want others' opinions. If you require feedback, alternatives might be more affordable.

Fits well for systems priced above $300 due to its asynchronous ECL design. If you're planning to invest that amount, async ECL is ideal for advanced tuning and boosting X3D CPUs. However, a more affordable choice like the B650 PG Lightning, Aorus Elite, or B650E Steel Legend/PG Riptide would also work just as effectively. Those options are sufficient for your needs.

1 PCIe 5.0 port is easy to locate even if it offers little value and likely won’t be useful for a long time. (Check the video). Do you know what the X670(E) provides compared to the B650(E)? If you only need one Gen5 PCIe slot, a suitable B650E board can handle it all day. For instance, the Asrock B650E PG Riptide Wi-Fi works well. As for Asus, their products are decent and the Armory Crate is just an extra (it’s not worth it). If you prefer to skip them out of principle, that’s fine too.

They often make it seem like everyone is a pro who tweaks everything, but it doesn't apply to regular users. Factory settings or basic PBO won't help much either. Focus on real, practical stuff instead.

You're looking for PCIe 5.0 to future-proof your setup. You're considering a 7800x3d configuration and want to avoid frequent upgrades. Regarding board differences, X boards are typically higher-end models with more advanced features, while B boards offer a more budget-friendly option with similar capabilities. Prices vary widely depending on the specific features and brand you choose.

Enables bclk tweaking for X3D CPUs and detailed overclocking on any board priced over $300. Consider it too expensive if you don’t overclock X3D and skip the premium features of those boards. If you’re not planning to overclock and don’t need the higher-end specs, opt for a more affordable alternative since you’re likely wasting money.

The main focus is adding a second chipset to boost input/output capabilities. This isn't primarily about upgrading to premium features, though that can happen occasionally. The B650(E) meets the needs of most users. The difference between B650 and B650E mainly ensures PCIe Gen5 connectivity from the CPU, typically for the main M.2 port. These details are just suggestions—always check the full specs. The spreadsheet you shared is really helpful.

I agree, going with B boards sounds good.
