I'm running at 4.45Mhz with a 1.3V CPU core voltage. I'm using memory timings three steps above 3200 and fabric timings three steps above 1600. I've studied overclocking these CPUs extensively but haven't seen such high gains. My temps stay below 72°C thanks to my digital storm AIO cooler. Even with good temperature control, am I pushing too hard? I'll share my readings during a Cinebench 23 test on the bench. Thanks! P.S., I'm consistently scoring between 13,500 and 13,750 on Cinebench 23.

you might be degrading your CPU the higher you go, but then again you might just have won the lottery for the CPU and the cooling being good. If it's stable and can last with those settings in a couple of months from now. So you might just be lucky, although got no idea of the values that are good or shouldn't be above at on CPUs in general though. Just not too much Edited July 28, 2021 by Quackers101

As long as you stay under 1.4v, you're good to push it as far as you can. The Ryzen doesn't gain much from overclocking.

It may rise to as high as 1.5V, though it shouldn't keep a steady voltage above 1.4V. 1.3V is perfectly acceptable.

My 3700X isn't overclocked and it's asking for up to 1.5V from the voltage regulators. However, it doesn't maintain that voltage consistently—it only reaches it briefly. That's why people who set a fixed voltage for overclocking usually advise against going too high. A 1.5V boost for just a few seconds isn't an issue for these chips, but keeping it at 1.5V nonstop will cause rapid wear. The person who posted got quite lucky with their 3700X; my unit isn't even stable at 4.4GHz single-core at 1.4V, so achieving 4.45GHz with stable performance across all cores at 1.3GHz seems to be a very high-quality chip.

Recognize that both voltage and current contribute to wear, not just voltage. Stock operation supports extremely high voltages alongside minimal current and stable temperatures for reliable performance, keeping things safe. Unlimited 1.5 V exposure will definitely lead to degradation.

Whatever v-core you can handle 190A EDC for 105W chips. If testing FIT voltage as described by @FakeKGB, that would be your secure v-core for 2/4/7. Adjust your clocks accordingly. You need steady load until peak temperatures stabilize, verify hwinfo64 SVIN12 (v-core) actual readings.
