Operation Pitchfork involvement from UOLTT
Operation Pitchfork involvement from UOLTT
Pitchfork is happening during the beta phase of SC, which means we can proceed without any major risks. We’ll likely perform a complete server reset afterward, so there’s no chance of losing or gaining anything. I think it serves as a lighthearted stress test for the servers.
It looks like they're scheduling it for the end of Beta: https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.co...-pitchfork. This discussion is quite large! Edit: After Beta, no wipe detected—potential issues might emerge... @ Maciek. Updated October 8, 2014 by Wauthar
Sure, I understand. If they don't clean up during the beta phase, there will be a lot of complaints. Headstart / Open Beta is another situation altogether.
They mentioned possibly skipping the cleanup after the final beta phase. It was meant to give a boost to those who contributed and played in the game's development. In my view, RSI will need to reconsider. There are many players eager for the official launch who don’t want to ruin the experience by joining beta. Soon they’ll start complaining intensely, which could lead to server issues.
