Operating system featuring controller integration
Hello. You're interested in an operating system that offers complete control via a controller. SteamOS is part of that, but it's more of a predefined setup. Are you open to exploring other options like custom Linux distributions or specialized embedded systems?
SteamOS has largely fallen into disuse, with more than 14 months since its final release. The most viable options now include tools like Gopher360, enabling Xbox controller navigation on Windows. You may find newer versions by exploring available alternatives.
Steamos is essentially a steam image for Debian that launches automatically at startup. I’m not aware of any distributions that offer native controller support. While you can employ tools that simulate a mouse and keyboard across different OSes, the result won’t be ideal.
Additionally, you can set up Steam to utilize your controller for this task as well.
