I was an amd gpu guy until now. Got an rtx 5060 ti and noticed that are two programs for driver, nvidia app and nvidia control panel. i usualy closed the amd adrenalin before start a game but this time i forgot do close this nvidia control panel. I know this is a dumb question for most of you, but doing this could affect the visuals in my games or the desktop area. Please be respectful, this is a sincere question.

Having the Nvidia Control Panel active won’t influence your games or desktop area at all. You can also close it whenever you like—it doesn’t impact performance either. It only affects things if you modify or change settings within the panel.

NVCP is currently undergoing changes. For years it remained consistent, until GeForce Experience introduced new features that weren’t part of the original NVCP. Now the GFE has been replaced by the Nvidia app, which retains all previous functionality. The shift isn’t finished, but most needed tools are available in the updated app. In the meantime, NVCP will likely disappear entirely, though it’s not harmful. Running a card without it often triggers annoying popups. It’s best to let it handle things quietly—just open the Nvidia logo in the system tray to access NVApp now.
