CPU model: AMD 5700X Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE Mobo: MSI MAG X570S Tomahawk Max Wi-Fi (BIOS supports 5000 series) GPU: Gigabyte Gaming OC Rev 2.0 GeForce RTX 3070 RAM: Teamgroup T-Force Vulcan Z 8GB x4 (tested with single stick previously) PSU: Corsair HX750 80+Platinum First boot occurred before installing the case, it went through the EZ debug lights 1-2 times during POST, but this seems typical for this model. Installation completed without issues. Performance was stable for a short time. Updated Windows, uninstalled and reinstalled software, Steam and Firefox worked. While importing bookmarks, display disappeared and the CPU light stayed red. Only shutting down the PSU stopped the system. Upon restarting, all components lit up and fans started. Debug lights changed from blue to red, then settled on a solid red state. At this stage, I can only power off the PSU to halt operation except during the attempt without a GPU, where the CPU light turned white VGA before shutting down the power supply. When I tried booting without any graphics card, the CPU light changed from red to white and allowed shutdown via power button. My attempts included: - Using just one RAM stick - Disabling the GPU (CPUlight → VGA light → only shutdown with power button) - Resetting CMOS - Reconnecting all cables in the motherboard and PSU - Checking cooler, thermal paste was intact - Removing CPU pins without debris in the M.2 slot - Reinstalling CPU, cooler, GPU, and cables – problem continues. I lack compatible spare parts for further testing. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.**

Have you considered updating the BIOS? There was a previous version that resolved the EZ LED issues for this model.

Still searching for a USB that works, especially since MSI boards are known for being strict about BIOS flashing. The motherboard should have supported the 5700X right away, and I was counting on that.

You performed a BIOS update to version 7D54v14 and the process completed successfully. The flashing lasted roughly seven minutes before the system rebooted. Unfortunately, the problem remains unresolved.

I saw your latest update about the main post and how it briefly reached Windows. Are there any other PSUs you might want to try swapping? Is your HX750 model brand new? The way it powers off after the splash screen or when loading Windows suggests a possible power or thermal problem. Both your PSU and cooling solution seem sufficient, but it’s possible one isn’t working as expected.

I do not have a spare (of the psu or any of the major parts compatible) to test with unfortunately. It is a new PSU. Another unfortunate part is because these were christmas gifts bought on black friday I am out of the direct exchange window on the PSU. Can still exchange the mobo and cpu until end of the month. Worse case I could take it to Canada Computer type place and diagnose for $50, but want to try everything I can first...though I think I may be close to that point lol.

I brought it in for a check-up because I didn’t notice any issues—I think it was just the motherboard.
