I understand windows isn't possible, but I'm trying to see if my KVM can launch Windows on the existing setup. I'll check it out soon.

You can transfer the partition as a current drive as suggested on Stack Overflow. If you have available space, I saved my Windows partition to an .img file and converted it using qemu-img into a qcow2 format. Then I used qcow2 image for the virtual machine and expanded my Linux partition to cover the entire hard drive.
