I launched CPU-Z and discovered the i3-3220 installed on my system only has two threads. Shouldn't it be a dual-core, multi-threaded processor?

Hello, it seems the HT might be turned off in the BIOS.

It's possible the system needs a BIOS flash. Check for inactive threads in MSConfig or disable HyperThreading in the BIOS settings.

To verify thread status in Msconfig, look for the "Threads" section and ensure it reflects the current settings. If threads are disabled, you can adjust them directly within the configuration file or through the GUI.

Open msconfig.exe, go to advanced options, select boot, then advanced settings. Which Windows edition are you running—64-bit or 32-bit? I noticed some problems with the 32-bit version not using all available threads. Updated on January 13, 2020 by noxdeouroboros

Running on a 32-bit Windows 7 system. Upgrading to Windows 10 64-bit is planned for later. Here’s the configuration output from msconfig.

Clicking the 2 displays an upgrade window for Windows. This may resolve the problem.

The only choice is to click 2...2 since my CPU has two cores. I’ll give it a shot.
