Hi everyone, I just installed an Athlon x4 880k in my PC. During overclocking, I noticed only cores 1 and 2 were running at full speed, while the other two were at about 1.7ghz. After checking online, I tried enabling Quiet and Cool, which showed all four cores at 4.2ghz—good progress. However, during stress tests, clock speeds became unstable, with only two cores running at full speed at any time, dropping back to around 1.7ghz. I have power settings set to full performance and attempted to unpark all four cores via the registry. Now I’m planning a complete chipset driver reinstall. What do you think?

It might vary based on the software you're employing for testing or benchmarking. Similar to other applications or games, it could not always run efficiently across all cores at full capacity.

The result might vary depending on the testing software you're using for evaluation. Similar to other applications, it may not always utilize all cores at full capacity. I would agree with that, but Prime95 didn't manage to activate all cores, even when running another program, showing the CPU could reach 100% while only two cores operated at 1.7ghz.

Use Strees to stress-test your CPU via CPU-Z, then track performance using AMD Overdrive.

What kind of motherboard do you own? Was your motherboard come with software such as ASRock A-Tuning or MSI Command Center? Have you installed them?
