Your recent motherboard and CPU can handle hybrid dual-channel settings. When using two RAM sticks, the first two will operate in dual-channel mode while the remaining sticks run in single-channel mode. This means data from a game or application placed on the third stick will be slower because it uses single-channel processing.

Are you referring to contact with the fins or just the fan? You might be able to adjust the position of the fan.

I secured it by taking out the fan, but left the 4th one on. This is clear from the photo—without removing the Heatsync, there’s no room.

I would propose the most drastic option if needed. Since the fins aren't aligning, I suggest slightly bending them downward to create space for the ram. This shouldn't hurt the heatsink's performance, as you still have many fins available.
