CPU model is i3-6100, motherboard ASUS Z170-A. RAM installed in two 4GB sticks. BIOS version is Z170-A, latest update applied. After reboot, Windows won’t start. Once the system powers on, fans run at full speed until manually stopped or entered BIOS. No error screens appear even after a minute. BIOS access remains functional. In BIOS, I can choose the Windows 10 partition via the boot menu and still boot into Windows. Attempts to flash BIOS again, reset older version by removing MOBO battery, unplugging power for a minute, adjusting AHCI vs RAID, modifying CMOS settings, and changing Secure Boot haven’t resolved the issue. What should I try next?

I think Windows works well because I haven’t made any changes. If needed, I’ll reinstall it.

You might have mixed up the Windows bootloader settings. You can attempt to repair it using a Windows USB installer (search for detailed steps online). Regarding boot options such as Legacy, CSR, and Secure Boot, changing them can damage your Windows setup. Proceed with care and only when necessary. Good luck!

I believe there’s a problem with the MOBO. I attempted to install Windows on another drive and encountered the same issue.

The CPU indicator light is illuminated during startup, even though the system seems unresponsive. It’s unclear why this happens. You haven’t applied any custom overclocking beyond the standard one included with the setup.
