I just found a fix on another site that makes uploads go back to normal and match my downloads without using the USB-to-NIC adapter. The solution was to go into the NIC advanced settings and turn off the large send offload for IPv4, as well as the large send offload V2 for IPv4. I'm wondering if this is just another bug patch? Why would such a setting work for 10 years suddenly causing overnight download speed crashes? I'd love to hear from other members about this. I plan on reading more about large send offloads myself and want to understand the cause of the problem and find the correct way to fix it. I already have a scar patch USB NIC adapter that costs only $14, so if I discover anything while researching large send offloads, I'll update this post with new information for everyone to learn from. I've been online for hours over the last two nights trying to find out why things are happening so I can see if just turning off the big send-offloads will actually fix it or if that's just another temporary patch. I'm betting it's a temporary patch because my workstations have good upload and download speeds when this feature is on, but not when they're off. I want to figure out what's going on in the network itself first. I looked at everything I could think of and compared all the computers that don't have the problem with the ones that do. I moved the affected machines to places where things worked fine. I changed their IP addresses too. All the advice from other people plus anything else that makes sense is still out there, but I haven't figured out a solid theory yet. I feel like something has to do with these VOIP phones and I've already asked my internet company for help. They're waiting on me to get back on the phone. If anyone here has dealt with this before please leave a comment. Maybe it's exactly what helps me finally solve the problem instead of just trying to patch things again and again like I have done since this started happening. While I continue to try and document updates if anything changes, that's why we're supposed to be here for each other. Thanks everyone who read or replied... it all really matters
