At first, the technician installed the coax cable for Fios Internet and TV, but now I’m using Wi-Fi instead. The cable is still there behind my TV, with one end connected to the ONT. Whether you need it depends on your setup—if you’re only relying on internet, you might not need it anymore.

When not in use, the device remains functional on its own network. Keep it only if you intend to resume TV service later.

Your ONT connects via Ethernet to the router, so the coax cable isn't required for TV.
