Only incoming packet loss detected (stress level high)
We’ve been dealing with this problem since I moved into the apartment in early April. There was no such issue before. Both of us face random packet loss on incoming packets—sometimes every few minutes, other times every few hours, and occasionally for days without any problems. The disruption lasts between 30 seconds to 30 minutes, after which everything resumes as if nothing happened. It impacts both our wired setup and wireless network. We’re connected via Gig through a Midco modem (Midcontinent Communications, Midwest ISP). Our connection never drops completely. Speed tests usually show under 1Mbps download with 50-80Mbps upload and less than 30ms ping across all tests. On Discord, people say it sounds normal, but we notice it’s robotic. Our ISP has sent technicians three times, promising fixes, but the problem keeps returning either later that day or the next. We’re using the router/modem package provided by the ISP. They’ve replaced the modem twice without success. What might be causing this?
