Hi, I'm trying to figure out what went wrong with my PC setup. I have a Tomahawk MSI450 motherboard with a 4x4GB RAM slot, an AMD Ryzen 1700 CPU, and a DDR4 RAM stick rated at 2400MHz. Everything seemed fine until I noticed only 8GB of RAM showing up, even though the specs say 16GB total. The BIOS lists all four sticks but only shows 8GB as the available amount. I checked the slots, confirmed the RAM was inserted properly, and even tried using two in the correct slots, but only saw 4GB. Windows didn't help either. Any suggestions?

Looks like a dead memory channel. Check with a different proc (known good) if the problem persists. See if the board and/or proc are still under warranty, claim a replacement if it does.

Run memtest86 to verify stability. Ensure all 16 sectors display correctly before proceeding.
