Hello fellow forum members, after several attempts to fix things and a bit of trial and error, I finally switched to a different PSU. My old Straight Power 10 600 Watt Gold Efficiency unit had been keeping my GPU running for nearly a year, but it wasn’t sending any display signal anymore. I swapped it out for a 450W System power 7 model, and somehow it worked. I’m still puzzled and a bit frustrated because I spent so much time troubleshooting without understanding why my old PSU wouldn’t accept the new one. Also, I’m unsure if the GPU is still in good shape since I was thinking about selling it if it functions properly. On the positive side, the card has been running smoothly with Doom Eternal and Forza Horizon in 4K for hours now. Here’s a photo below showing the GPU and the software interface during Doom. Thanks from Germany, Kevin!

Vega cards are recognized for strong short-term power surges lasting a few milliseconds. Your current configuration might not handle these well, especially in older models, causing the system to trigger OCP/OPP and cut off the power supply. Many capable units experienced this problem at launch; the issue wasn't about card quality but rather needing updated OCP/OPP settings, which have been included in all recent updates. The weaker unit seems to be ignoring these signals and simply letting the GPU operate freely.

They had comparable problems with a standard power 10... they're really bad. (My more affordable pure power is way better lol)

It would have been smart to sell that Vega back in 2021. I had a dual-vega 64 configuration at that time and earned around $800 per unit from a machine learning specialist. You could have obtained a 6600 for roughly $400, which would have been much quicker and required less than half the power. Nowadays, those components are quite outdated in terms of performance. Still, you might be able to resell a used 6600 or 5700xt for a better value—possibly around $700 or less—and it could run just as well or even slightly better. You could also consider a refurbished 6600 or 5700xt, which would likely be faster.
