Only Base System available, OS installation not possible.
I’m trying to recall what happened… My Mac Mini had high Sierra and wasn’t used much before I decided to update to Monterey OS. It worked fine at first, but when I tried to boot, I got a startup error. I attempted Internet recovery mode, but I didn’t have much time to fix it. Now I’m stuck in this situation. I started the Mac Mini in Internet recovery via Power-CMD, and it displayed a different interface with Monterey OS. Still, I can’t install the new OS because I don’t have any disk space left. The only available drives are Apple Disk images and macOS Base System. When I tried to install, it asked which drive to use but I couldn’t select anything. It’s frustrating—I lost all my files and documents during this upgrade. I’m not sure where everything went. I’m hoping someone can assist me. I’ve already shared this on the Apple Community, but I really need help. I don’t want to buy an external hard drive; this is my last option. Thank you for your support!
This seems like a dead drive to me. Id swap the drive with a good one. You can also install the os to a usb ssd.
