I understand I'm a dinosaur, but for me, a PC needs an optical drive because I can only afford one top-tier system that also serves as my media and gaming machine, connected to my main TV. I'm preparing parts for a fresh build and checking Amazon listings—4K Blu Ray drives seem to not work with AMD CPUs, only Intel. Has this been resolved? Is there a workaround or should part of my budget go toward a standalone 4K Blu Ray player? I prefer having my favorite films locally while others stream. Thanks for your time.

No, I can't post the listing. It contains inaccurate information about Blu-ray drives and viewing costs. The current situation with Windows 10 and Ryzen PCs makes it difficult to access Blu-ray content without additional software or internet connectivity.

You might find a 4k Blu-ray player, as they are affordable now and offer smoother performance with fewer compatibility issues.

Using 4K Blu-ray on a PC is really frustrating. Intel is cutting support for it on their latest processors. Consider using a basic standalone player instead.
