It's not that bad now, though it used to be a nightmare. For years, half my games wouldn't launch and Steam would shut down completely, forcing me to manually restart them every time. Steam doesn’t even back up games properly—I still have to update old games after reinstalling them, even though they were fully patched when I made the backup. It’s frustrating with Steam, which took nine years to get a functional offline mode. The only praise comes from sales, which is why people love it. Without them, support would take about a week to respond, and you’d likely get a slow reply or a quick call back after clicking the button.
Sorry, the explanation isn't clear. It seems this issue might not be Steam's responsibility.
There's more to it than '0.1% cannot launch games because (input steam trashtalk here)'. There's a reason for it, very likely. You can't just say it's not working for 0.1% of the steam users, while it is for the other 99.9%. I have never had a problem with steam on mac or windows, besides not being able to pay on steam. I have to admit, steam support is garbage. By far the worst support I've ever seen
