Only a portion of my memory is functional – standard solutions didn’t help.
Hi everyone, I just completed my new machine and saw it’s only utilizing half of my RAM. The usual solutions you find online didn’t help, so I’ll try to explain the setup clearly: I first noticed this when trying to sync LEDs on my RAM to appear all white, but the bottom section of my stick kept looping in AURA mode (refer to the photo). It’s odd that just the lower half is affected. Do you think there’s a reason for this and how to resolve it? Here are the system details: board – ASUS PRO WS WRX80E-SAGE SE WIFI RAM – G-SKILL F4-3600C18Q2-256GTZR (only 128 GB usable), CPU – Threadripper Pro 3955WX, GPU – RTX 3090, PSU – bequiet Dark Power Pro 1500W. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Christian.
Windows 10 Home imposes a fake RAM cap at 128GB, which accounts for the issue. You’ll have to upgrade to Pro to access full memory. The RGB settings are really poor.
also.. your RAM is listed as 3600mhz, but according to the specs it should actually handle up to 3200mhz. regarding Windows 10 restrictions, just purchase a Windows 7 Pro license from any online source—no need for questionable sites. it’ll cost around $3-5 or pounds. Microsoft still allows conversion from 7 to 10 using a valid key, but you can’t go back to the original version afterward. RAM limit is 2 terabytes.
It's hard to tell if you're joking or not... but maybe they are. Never tried before.
Surprised! It seems the older OS keys didn’t work properly when upgrading to Win10, as mentioned a few years ago. Good to have that info! Thanks, bud.
