Hey everyone. I'm facing issues with opening ports for my security system. A video recorder stopped working, so I replaced it but can't access it remotely anymore. I've set up port forward rules for 80, 8000, and 1050—80 and 8000 are open, but 1050 isn't. The new setup isn't working either. It's been running smoothly for about a year and a half. I configured three port forwards from various locations, all using the same protocol. Each shows 192.168.1.200:80, 192.168.1.200:8000, and 192.168.1.200:1050. The controller is version 5.3.8 USG3, running version 4.3.39.4971515. I contacted my ISP to check for blocks, but they confirmed nothing was blocking it. Am I missing something in the rules? Looking for help with troubleshooting. Also posted on Reddit. Thanks!

Check if it functions from your local network. Can you connect via telnet or SSH to port 1050 from within your LAN? If not, you’ll need to resolve the issue. Step 2 – examine your router’s forwarding settings. How many rules exist? Do you already have a rule for port 1050 or any specific ranges? You said the previous system worked for years, so it likely didn’t use port 1050; otherwise, you’d have contacted your ISP. Could there be conflicting rules or forwarding to another 192.168.xxx address? Step 3 – test by switching the port in a video recorder and updating the firewall to port 1051, for instance, to see if it resolves the problem.
