You recently purchased the game during a winter sale and completed downloads and updates. However, it keeps crashing when you enter character creation. After performing a repair, the issue persists and Steam’s integrity check simply removes the game, forcing you to start over. You’re using Windows 10 with a GTX 770, Core i7 4770K, and 8GB RAM. Assistance would be very helpful.

Have you considered avoiding Steam? It might be the reason.

You're asking about running the game without Steam. Since you bought it through Steam, you might be able to use it outside of Steam, but availability depends on the platform and region.

After creating an account with ZeniMax, you won't require Steam. Due to ongoing issues, downloading directly from Zeni may be a better option. The game checks your system for a digital "fingerprint," and any current Steam problems could affect this process.

Attempting it again is causing even slower downloads, which is disappointing. I won’t be able to play until tomorrow.
