The initial version has been upgraded to the Tamriel Edition automatically. If you already have it installed and log in, a massive update will download for the game, after which you can access it for free.
It's a much improved version compared to the original release. I began with a fresh character but spent only a short time exploring it. Don't feel pressured to compare it to Skyrim—just dive in without expectations and you'll find it's a solid experience. I imagine I'd enjoy the game more if I weren't juggling so many other MMOs.
The game is running well, with a strong community and active health updates.
I played ESO in the first month and I was enjoying as hell! It's in the universe of Tamriel which is awesome if you are a fan of Skyrim, Oblivion Morrowind and always dreamed of seeing the other provinces. For PVE, quest are well made for an MMO (at least for me who have played WoW and a few shitty mmos) The PVP was absolutly awesome and was the reason I loved this game so much, even if a bit unbalanced cause the majority of players went into the Aldemeri Dominion, leaving the 2 other faction weaker. Just don't expect it to be like Skyrim or you will be dissapointed. It's an MMO so you'll never get the same level of immersion as Skyrim. Personnally, I stoped playing for 2 reasons, the monthly payment and the fact that a LOT of people left after the first ''free'' month. The PVP servers were almost empty compared to the epic battle of 1800 players of the first few weeks. There was also those ''infinite almost loading screen bug'' that got on my nerves and those deconect that was realy pissing me off in pvp but I'm sure those problems are fixed by now. Now that there is no monthly payment anymore, I'll be sure to take a look again! I knew they would have to back off on that, it was a terrible idea...
