Hello.
I have two slots on my laptop with a 16GB and an 8GB RAM stick installed. The total capacity should be 24GB, but the BIOS and Task Manager only display 16GB. I’m already experiencing good performance with the 16GB, yet the CPU-Z tool shows 24GB. When I swapped the RAM sticks, only the 8GB one was visible. I believe the issue lies not with the RAM itself, but with the slot—though it also appears in applications. There’s no dirt inside, so I cleaned it and updated the BIOS. It seems there’s no maximum RAM limit defined in MSConfig.
I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

Hello there! I have two slots on my laptop with a 16GB and an 8GB RAM stick installed. Could you provide the make, model, and SKU for these slots? What is the BIOS version for this laptop? And which brands or models do the RAM sticks come from?

I swapped the second slot with a different RAM module. The system still identifies it but it remains inactive.
