I just want to note that I don’t aim to turn this into a console versus PC debate. We all understand that the article at gadgets.ndtv is unrealistic. For 4K at 60fps in most games with medium-low settings, you’d need a GTX 1070—far beyond what’s available on a standard console and only paired with an i5 processor. If the Xbox Scorpio could truly run games at true 4K 60fps, building a rival PC would likely cost around $650, which seems unlikely.
At moderate to low configurations, a 1070 and a G4560 are capable of handling it. It wasn't mentioned it would be completely free, but the Scorpio won't either.
The piece suggests the best match for Scorpio comes from a 7700K configuration... Eight custom x86 cores running at 2.3GHz compared to 4.4Ghz 4C/8T CPUs—more akin to an R5 processor, honestly.
For straightforward running titles, the frame rates should stay similar to the original. This is mainly because of the GPU performance and the CPU cores being quite powerful.
This setup works well because you can purchase a Z270 motherboard, a GTX 1070 graphics card, and later upgrade to an i7 processor.
Digital Foundry positioned the GPU in Scorpio alongside the RX480. From a straightforward specs view, it could be roughly comparable or just a bit higher.
