Your motherboard supports four RAM slots, but the XMP profile requires using just two of them. You currently have two 8GB sticks totaling 16GB. To reach 32GB, you’d need to add two more 8GB sticks or two 16GB sticks, depending on your upgrade path.

What processor do you have? If you're using a Ryzen chip, consider pairing two 16 GB units and aim for a higher clock speed than your current setup (3200 or 3600 MHz). Ryzen processors gain a lot from quicker RAM. With Intel, the difference isn't as significant.

In that scenario, it depends on your preference. To save costs, add another 16 GB beyond your current storage. For better performance and a smoother transition to larger capacities later, opt for the latest RAM options.
