I don't believe there are that many wires in backbone channels. Entire regions can be covered by one single bundle. This doesn't truly address the issue that every endpoint still needs connection, which means millions of individual wires will still be required for homes and businesses. I get it, this sounds great, but saying it will cut thousands of cables seems a bit overstated. You won't eliminate redundancy or separate systems like emergencies and finance just by increasing bandwidth.

You also require significant computing capability to analyze the information effectively. A current processor is necessary to manage the network interrupts from a 1GB link.
