On your desktop PC it appears as if you're using a laptop.
Hello. My setup has a desktop computer, but I’m not very familiar with tech. The issue is that it appears as a laptop in the settings and the name starts with “LAPTOP.” When I log into my Microsoft account, it lists it as a laptop. There are different power modes like sleep when plugged in and battery saving. I also have touchscreen features, and sometimes I get an alert that the touch mousepad is disconnected. Can I adjust any settings to make it recognized as a desktop? Edited May 3, 2022 by Schnappi
What type of desktop are you looking for? It could be an all-in-one setup or a compact form factor, which might look like a laptop. Regardless, it doesn’t really matter. You can simply rename it to your preference. There’s a Microsoft support discussion on the topic.
The power settings have remained consistent since Windows 7. You can adjust them as needed. Touchscreen features were introduced starting with Windows 8. There seem to be no issues if you're using a desktop version.
