That's why I was thinking about upgrading the CPU (and matching PSU and cooling—PSU is already updated). The goal was to make the most of this free pre-built system my relative gave me. It wasn't essential, but it kept coming to mind lately. Now I'm collecting resources and digging deeper, and thanks for the help!

Thanks again for the assistance. It seems I should give it more thought. As mentioned before, the goal was mostly to extract the final performance from this old Am4 board. Also, I heard very positive feedback about the 5800X3D and the overall Am4 platform. Another reason was that others advised waiting on AM5 since they appear costly in their opinion. The final point is that my usual tasks—besides gaming—include productivity tools like video editing software (Sony Vegas) and art programs (CSP, Krita, etc.). I thought CPU-intensive applications would gain from a significant CPU upgrade.

It hasn't changed much since launch five months back. The "AM5 is too costly" feeling is fading fast. Being close to a Microcenter makes those bundles really great.

this offers both advantages and drawbacks (not really a joke, just meaning I need to dig deeper into what comes next). At the very least, i’ll be preparing for something—maybe a 5800x3d for quick wins, knowing it’s an EOL product, on an outdated board or platform, or for a collection of items that will keep me moving forward on newer systems like AM5 or Intel and provide more flexibility.

X3D runs smoothly on the CPU. It’s even simpler than the 5800X since it has a lower clock speed. You don’t have to worry about VRMs.
