OMEN Gaming laptop 16 is stuck in a BIOS update cycle.
Hi everyone, last night I tried to play a game via Steam. After clicking play, it didn’t start properly and I went back to cancel it so I could try again. This resulted in a blue screen of death. Once the laptop rebooted, I saw a message saying BIOS was updating and instructed not to unplug power or press the power button. After about 20 seconds, it transitioned to a screen with “HP BIOS Update” at the top and then “initializing” at the bottom. The PC restarted and went through this process repeatedly. This issue started at 7:30 PM last night and has persisted all night until now (12:30 PM), still happening. I’ve attached photos showing the loop you described. The power button isn’t working, and any attempts to load BIOS—like pressing F2 or F10—haven’t resolved it. I’m really confused and this laptop is essential for my studies. Please help me out.
Find an empty 32GB flash drive or another machine to download the BIOS file and a recovery flash drive. Visit the HP support site, enter your laptop’s serial number, navigate to drivers & downloads > BIOS/UEFI, and obtain the newest installer. Follow the instructions to create the recovery drive. Insert it into the target laptop, press WIN+B while powering on for 45 seconds as specified in HP’s recovery guide: https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/is...2337994-16. Refer to the "Recover the BIOS using a USB recovery drive" section at the bottom of the page for details.
