Hello everyone, welcome! I'm just starting out here, so please be gentle.
I'm planning to use the link you shared for professional audio music production and video rendering. Right now I have an old Alienware area 51 with one of the PCI slots connected via a Texas Instruments card. The Alienware is about eight years old, and I'm worried it won't handle video rendering and editing well.
I'm thinking about upgrading to something more powerful. Would using the Omen 45L at its maximum capacity be suitable for this purpose? I've read some articles suggesting against high-end graphics for professional audio setups... does that make sense? It seems like it could cause performance issues.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
IAN

Do you rely on a DAW?
Are you planning to move the TI card into the new build? What are the specifications of this card? Modern systems don’t have traditional PCI slots, but if it’s a PCIe model you should be fine.

What video editing tools do you employ?
A powerful GPU is essential for most rendering applications. A high-quality Tier A power supply will handle the current demands of mid-range GPUs and help prevent EMI issues during audio work.
You may require professional guidance when upgrading to a 4080 or 4090 GPU.

Do your audio applications heavily depend on a GPU? If not, the GPU won’t need to manage large current spikes while idle.

Hello,
thank you for your response.
I might not require the TI card if I achieve the necessary performance through a USB port. I’m uncertain about the card’s specifications. Still, I definitely need the 4090 GPU for video rendering. I plan to use Adobe Premiere and Blender.
In music production, I typically use Cubase, Studio One, Reason, and Native instruments. Audio software doesn’t heavily rely on a GPU.
I’ve seen some articles mentioning issues with Nvidia GPUs and drivers affecting Pro music production, which is why this original post came up.
