Occasionally Windows 10 encounters problems during updates, causing unexpected issues that didn’t exist before. I’ve never faced this on my system since I only install updates from a bootable USB for newer OS versions. Have you tried using the compatibility troubleshooter? If not, give it a go. Open OS settings, type "Troubleshooter" and select the second option under "Program Compatibility," skip the network troubleshooter, scroll down to "Program Compatibility Troubleshooter," click it, and follow the prompts carefully to help resolve the problem.
