I recently installed a 2TB 970 EVO Plus in the second M.2 slot on my motherboard (ASUS B550-F WiFi). Since then, I've experienced frequent micro stutters, even after updating to a fresh Windows installation. Previously, I used it for playing Valorant on my boot drive (1/4TB 980 Pro) without any issues. Now the problem is much more apparent. I adjusted the settings in the NVIDIA control panel, but the situation worsened with more tweaks. Could there be a difference between using a Gen 3 M.2 slot versus a Gen 4 slot connected directly to the CPU? Might that cause micro stuttering in games? Also, my GPU is a 3060 Ti from ASUS and I have an R7 3700X.

You recently installed Windows and are checking if all motherboard, CPU, and GPU drivers were updated. It's possible the slot itself could be affecting performance. I recommend swapping the drives and slots to test. Also, consider using a monitoring tool that overlays CPU and GPU usage data—NVIDIA has an option for this. You might also try reinstalling the game if needed.

I'll attempt to reinstall the game first. After that, I'll consider changing the drives.
