Hello everyone! I recently assembled a brand-new computer for my friend using entirely different parts. It performed flawlessly in stress tests on 3Dmark, Furmark, AIDA64 and OCCT. I ran it for over ten hours without any issues. After delivering it to him, he used it for roughly three days. At one point, strange artifacts appeared on his desktop. He turned the screen on and off, and they vanished. After about ten minutes, they reappeared again. He powered everything down, reconnected all cables, and restarted it. Since then, the artifacts haven’t returned after two days. Here’s what I have so far: PC, GPU – MSI RTX 4080 Super Gaming X Slim (with latest drivers), CPU – AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D MoBo, RAM – Kingston DDR5 6400MHz 2x16Gb, SSD – two x Samsung 990 Pro 1TB, PSU – Be Quiet! Straight Power 12 1000W, Cooler – Be Quiet! Dark Rock Elite OS, Windows 11 Pro (latest updates), Display – BenQ Zowie XL2566K (360Hz).

Do you have any suggestions on what might be causing these artifacts? Could it be the display, the GPU, or another component? Also, would you recommend any software to help diagnose or fix this problem?

Adjust the display cable connections,... Once the display cables are plugged in, turn on the PC and open Windows. (Driver installed). Give the cable a slight movement, observe if it triggers the artifact. If yes,... Consider swapping out the display cables. I've noticed this issue with a cable that seemed fine at first but caused problems; I checked various cables beforehand, and minor adjustments helped resolve it. Some ports or cables might be responsible, but replacing them is usually the best solution.
