Hello, I own a Pentium Dual-Core E5200 with a 2.5ghz processor (around 8 years old). If I increase its speed to 3ghz, would it still be able to function? Thanks!

Probably not, especially with a cooler. However, you can purchase a very inexpensive core 2 quad from eBay, which would be better than a core 2 duo at 3ghz.

It varies based on your motherboard, CPU cooler, and PSU. What is your system?

Cooler: Stock, full of dust.

Actually, you can manage that. I boosted my Pentium E6600 to 3.5ghz from 3ghz on my P5G41T-M LX3 and it worked fine (though I use an aftermarket cooler).
