I've been checking online, browsing forums, and reading the manual. It seems I might be overlooking something. While starting up under different conditions, both when under load and idle, my motherboard keeps emitting sounds. The pattern varies—sometimes two short beeps, a pause, then five. Most often it's five beeps. I assumed it was an overheating warning, but the temperatures stayed below 60°C during load and even lower at idle. Remembering past experiences with the Hyper 212, I recall it shut down abruptly due to overheating. I'm trying to understand what triggers this behavior, but I don’t know much about motherboard sounds while running Windows. I haven’t found anyone else reporting similar issues, and I’m using Windows 10 64-bit with an Asus Sabertooth 990FX Rev 1 AMD FX-8350. I have 16GB DDR3 RAM from a Ripjaw module, but I’m unsure about the BIOS version—I haven’t updated it because I’m worried about damaging my board. No problems have occurred so far, so I haven’t felt the urge to change anything.

The 5 beeps from the Asus motherboard usually indicate a CPU fan issue, but it's unusual for them to trigger while Windows is active. Do you experience any crashes or instability after these beeps?

The system appears fully functional and has ceased its alerting behavior, though the reason remains unclear. Edit note: I suspect this could indicate the device is nearing the end of its operational lifespan, given its prolonged use over nearly a decade.

It feels unusual how long it has been. Updates seem too infrequent now; I'm currently around six years old and only five years ago.

I finally solved the issue! It wasn’t my motherboard—it was the fan controller. I disassembled the PC for a deep clean and removed the old unit because I no longer needed it, though I kept the front case on standby since it displayed nicely. No more beeping has occurred since then.
