Oh the lag
Oh the lag
So I tried to play Paladins on my newly built PC, but experienced huge lag right from the start when I opened the game just at the login screen—it was terrible. Once I found a lobby, it improved a bit. My concern is whether the lag and tearing are due to my monitor's refresh rate or something else? I thought it might be the monitor, but in a previous post I had issues with no display output through the GPU and fixed it by connecting the display directly to the motherboard. Could it be a GPU, monitor, or motherboard issue? Or all of them?
Sincerely
A first time builder
I believe I’ve identified the issue. The video display functions correctly with the GPU, but my computer fails to recognize it. I’ve installed various drivers and still receive the message “Nvidia graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows.” I’m using Windows 10 and haven’t used any older versions. I have no idea what to do next.
Start Windows in Safe Mode, then use the DDU utility to fully disable the graphics drivers. Restart the system and begin reinstalling the new driver. This approach is often needed because a standard "Clean install" from the Nvidia installer may not fully remove old driver remnants and can lead to conflicts.
What GPU do you have? You haven't shared the details of your build, so I don't know what you're using. Also, Windows automatically detected and installed the drivers while you were setting up a new installation. If it hasn't done that for you, something might be off. Have you tried using HWInfo or GPU-Z?
