So... HP support is completely fucked and I'm unable to even use their shitty website at the moment. So basically, I ordered factory reset media for my OEM desktop PC and they ended up sending me a USB key and factory reset instructions for using discs. I'm able to boot to the USB, but it freezes in what seems to be an infinite loop of searching the HDD for some reason. Just wondering if there's a way to restore to its original condition at the current state. (The HDD has been wiped/replaced since and I no longer have the factory image on the HDD, which is why I bought the reset media. )

Check if your HP machine includes a recovery disk and see if you can access it by pressing the right key during startup. The exact key varies by model, so confirm the specific HP system you're using.

It looks like you didn't mention the replacement part. You confirmed it was a Pavilion P7 1017C.

I see, I made an error. You'll need the recovery media for your PC, which is only available from HP as you observed. Good luck handling them!

They asked if it was possible to bring the computer back to its original condition. The only options were either using the recovery partition, which is now unavailable after the hard drive was replaced, or relying on the recovery media provided by HP. You mentioned receiving a USB drive with instructions for the recovery DVD, indicating you’d need that. If you don’t have it, you’ll have to obtain it from HP. It’s unclear how they didn’t grasp the details of the process.

I'll clarify the original post, I suppose it's my mistake on key wording.
