Occasionally when using Chrome, a black checkerboard appears on my screen, but not during gaming?
While using Chrome, this black checkboard pattern sometimes appears unexpectedly, especially during searches. It can interfere with typing and has occurred on both Chrome and Steam. It seems to be linked to the wallpaper engine, causing quick glitches that make it hard to capture a screenshot because it doesn’t happen often. I’m not very tech-savvy, so could you explain this in simple terms? I’ve already reinstalled Chrome, so it shouldn’t be the main issue.
Consider updating your graphics card drivers, which could resolve the issue.
I've had comparable issues in Edge and Chrome too. Disabling Hardware Acceleration seems to resolve the problem. Afterward, your CPU fan speed and temperatures should decrease slightly.
It looks like switching the renderer could resolve the issue while maintaining hardware acceleration. Refer to the note: I configured my renderer in Edge to D3D9 and didn’t notice any issues afterward.
