I searched for fixes and tried several steps: first ran a SFC scan, then removed and reinstalled the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package, downloaded DNSAPI.DLL from an unknown source and attempted to place it in System32. However, I encountered permission issues even when using the Administrator account with full privileges. What might have caused this? Appreciate your help.

Avoid this step. Launch the command prompt with admin privileges and execute sfc /scannow to resolve any problems.

I ran the sfc /scannow command. It repaired a few corrupt files, but the error persists.

You might attempt the command dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth from an admin prompt, though an in-place upgrade install is probably necessary to resolve the problem. It won’t erase anything but should resolve the issue. Simply download the Windows ISO, mount it, and then launch the installer while following any prompts carefully.
