Hello Everyone
I've never experienced these problems before, but after the recent BIOS update to F22d and overclocking my i5-6600k to 4.5Ghz on a Gigabyte Motherboard Z170X-Gaming 3 - Rev 1.0, my Vcore is randomly reaching 3.05v and showing the same in CPUID HWMonitor.
In the Voltages section of HWMonitor, the CPU VCore Min value is 1.044 and Max Value is 3.036. Most of the time it stays below 1.3V, but this occurs only during gaming. During Cinebench R15 tests, it never exceeds 1.3V. My temperatures are normal. Is this a bug? Or could the new BIOS be the cause? Should I consider installing an older BIOS version and using the Gigabyte App Center?

Would it be safe to install an older BIOS version using the Gigabyte App Center?

Probably a software issue. If the CPU could handle three times its speed, it would disappear quickly.

I haven’t experienced these problems before, but after the recent BIOS update to F22d and overclocking my i5-6600k to 4.5Ghz on a Gigabyte Motherboard Z170X-Gaming 3 - Rev 1.0, my Vcore is randomly reaching 3.05v and showing the same in CPUID HWMonitor.

During Cinebench R15 tests, it never exceeds 1.3V. My temperatures are normal. Is this a bug? Could the new BIOS be causing instability? Should I consider installing an older BIOS version using the Gigabyte App Center?
It might be a glitch—irregular readings can appear due to missing data in the software’s database about how hardware sensors interpret information.
Try the HWiNFO portable version (no installation required) from here:
https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php
It offers more sensors and variables, and I’ve noticed fewer unusual readings with it.
